“Mommy! Mommy!” came screams from Sarah
“Is everything ok, Sarah?” I asked her.
“I need to go potty.” Sarah replied
“Ok, let’s go.”

I walked with her to the bathroom (we have the bedroom area gated for security relating to Joanna. . .). I felt her pajama pants as I helped her down the hall and was pleased they were dry! When we got to the bathroom she informed me she was wet. Confused, I checked the pants–still dry. So, after she hoisted herself on the toilet, I felt her panties. Sure enough, barely damp (maybe sweat or just a drop of urine perhaps?). Well, I get her another pair of panties as she did her business. Then, she told me that she needed another pair of pajama pants. I was about to explain to her that her pants were dry, but I saw the storm building in her face and pulled another pair of pants out of her drawer. Some battles are just better not to fight at this hour. All of this taken care of, I escorted her back to her room and proceeded to crawl back into bed next to Zach. No sooner had I pulled the covers up, I hear, “MOMMYMOMMYMOMMYMOMMYMOMMYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMOMMYMOMMYMOMMYMOMMYMOMMY!!!!” Trying to figure out what would cause such a scream, I walk back to her room, “What’s wrong, Sarah?”
“My bed is wet.” Came a meek reply.
It wasn’t. I knew it wasn’t. But there was no way to convince her otherwise. I also knew I did not have the mental capacity to change her sheets at this hour, in a dark room and not wake up sleeping Joanna. What to do? What to do? I know!!!
“Sarah, I’m going to get a towell. Put it over that “wet” spot and it will keep you dry.”

Please let her buy it, please let her buy it. . .

“Ok Mommy!”
Yesssss.
“Ok, Sarah, here is a towell. Now put it on your bed and I will see you in the morning. I love you.”
“I love you too, Mommy.”
(pause)
silence
yesss.
Zzzzzzzz
